Recover Email

How to recover email is important if you have a business email account that is vital to your communications, it can sometimes become a huge problem when you have lost an email. Some aren’t as important, but some may contain information you can not get back unless you can find a way to recover email and find what you thought you lost. Though sometimes they are truly gone for good, there are times when they are simply lost. If you have a lot of stored email in your account, finding the one you need can be a problem.

The first place you should look when you want to recover email is in your trash folder, if you have one. Most of the time, you can set this folder to automatically empty once a week or once a day. If you use your email for business reasons, you never know when you may need to recover email, so you may want to set it to empty once a month. Many times the email was deleted by accident, and can be found simply by going through the trash folder. If you find it there, move it back to your inbox, and the problem is solved. Personally I never set a date for emails to be deleted as it’s caused me problems in the past. I read them when I have time, delete the unimportant and move the important ones to a relevant email folder.

Other times, all you have to do to recover email is to look through the other folders in your email box. Many times, people in a hurry often store their emails in the wrong folder. This happens to me a lot, and because I have a folder for each ongoing client that I have, there are a lot of folders in my email account, but some are inactive. I often put the correspondence in the wrong folder, and have a moment of panic before I find it. Most of the time, this is what I have done and the email communication can be restored. I really need to learn to be more careful because I do seem to waste a lot of time looking for emails I lost because I was in such a big hurry.

If you look in both places, but can not find your email, you may have to consider it is gone. If you save your ‘sent’ emails in a folder, you can look through there to see if you quoted the missing email in a reply. You can recover email information that way, but that is a long shot. To be safe in the future, you may want to set your account to automatically quote the email you reply to and to save a copy of each one you send. Though that won’t always work, it can help you find something that appears to be missing for some reason or another.

If you can’t recover email with the above choices you may need some software to do the job for you. Believe it or not there is data recovery software designed for recovering deleted emails. These programs are specifically designed to recover deleted emails, and the better ones are so powerful that they can recover email attachments, sent items in outlook, and all other types of outlook data files. When you absolutely have to have it the email recovery program may be able to help you recover email you thought was gone forever.
